Techtorium bringing IT courses to Christchurch

Techtorium is coming to Christchurch!

Techtorium is excited to annouce that we will be opening a brand new campus and be bringing our IT courses to Christchurch. The New Zealand Institute of Information Technology (Techtorium) is recognised as a NZQA Category 1 tertiary provider and has been operating successfully in Auckland since 2004. Due to high demand and in collaboration with the New Zealand IT industry, Techtorium is now in Christchurch and opening a new central city campus.our first ever campus outside of Auckland! Our Christchurch opening has been a long time in the making. The Techtorium team has been hard at work is an incredible development and we can’t wait to bring our vocational IT training to the South Island.

Who are we?

Since 2004, Techtorium has been in the business of providing excellent vocational IT training. From our very first intake of only 4 students to our 1000th graduate in 2019 we have dedicated ourselves to creating IT professionals through excellence in education. We now offer studies from NZQA levels 5 through 7 in Computer Engineering and up to level 6 in Software Development. Recruitment rates after finishing our courses have been consistently excellent thanks to our great industry partnerships, Employment Pathways team and of course the hard work of our academic planning and delivery teams. Now, we plan to bring our IT knowledge the Christchurch community.

What does Techtorium Christchurch have to offer?

2020 we will be busy year. We will have two different offerings for secondary school students, our short, three day long NCEA credited courses and our ICT programme. Our Short courses are designed to create clear pathways from secondary school right through to the IT industry,  whilst gaining credits that go towards their NCEA Level 2 and 3 qualifications. The ICT programme is a 30 week course in which students will achieve an ICT certificate and help support students through school. You can find out more about how we will support secondary school students in Christchurch here.

We will be launching Level 5 Diploma in IT Technical Support launch as the first Full-Time Course. The Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support is designed to help our learners gain the working knowledge and basic understanding of IT Systems and networking concepts. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to become an IT Support Engineer. We plan to make more of our IT Diplomas avalaible in the years to come.

Located at 205 Durham Street South, the new Techtorium campus is a short distance from Christchurch Central City.  A short walking distance from South City Shopping Centre, New World and public transport routes, the campus itself will be laid out as one of Techtorium’s own innovative learning environments. The central location and open layout will make for a great environment to be in both in and around campus.

This is a huge step for us and we can’t wait to bring our Techtorium values and vocational training to a whole new city.
