Student Services


During your first day at Techtorium, you’ll attend orientation, where we’ll provide guidance on everything you need to know to excel in your studies. You’ll have the opportunity to meet our Techtorium staff and become familiar with our teaching environment, as well as learn about the student services available to you. Our ultimate goal is for all students to be successful and achieve their best at Techtorium.


Below you will find a summary of some of the services we provide to assist and guide our students through their studies:

Student Administration


  • Support students by providing them with the necessary administrative information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on all aspects of student engagement, including attendance, pastoral notes, assessment results, and transcripts.
  • Ensure that the college meets all its statutory obligations to external agencies.

Student Rep Meetings


  • Provide a forum for students and Techtorium management to share ideas.
  • Select a representative student from each class to take turns leading the meetings.
  • Encourage students to take initiatives, such as organising end-of-term celebrations and other student activities.

Student Engagement and Support


  • Maintain an open-door policy for anyone who needs someone to talk to.
  • Provide support for students with disabilities or health concerns.
  • Refer students to necessary external agencies.
  • Offer support to all students, including International and Domestic out-of-town students, to help them settle into life in Auckland.
  • Assist students with issues related to accommodation, bank accounts, driver’s licenses, attendance, and any other personal issues that may arise.

Academic Delivery


  • Check in with students to address issues that may arise and monitor attendance or other factors that may impact their learning.
  • Use the VARK guide to assess students’ learning style (visual, aural, reading, or kinesthetic) and tailor teaching methods accordingly.
  • Implement a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for students who are falling behind in their assessments or class work.
  • RAP implementation can can include 1-on-1 assistance where needed, planning milestones with students to bolster their confidence and achievement and more.
