Course offerings

Short courses

 

Our short courses will give you an insight into the world of IT and are designed for year 12 & 13 secondary school students. The courses cover a variety of topics that are designed to give you an overview of what is to come in our full-time programmes.

This course will give you a basic understanding of common cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, risks and solutions. You will learn how to assess an affected user as well as plan, and create a security approach for a wider organisation.

What you’ll learn
  • To disassemble and reassemble a computer
  • Install & configure an operating system and application software
  • Configuring network, security and storage options for computers
Learn the basics of cloud technologies, what it supports, and how it is delivered. We’ll explore the different cloud platforms and discuss the future of the cloud.

What you’ll learn
  • Implementing security solutions on digital devices
  • Networking concepts
  • Routers and switches
  • Demonstrating knowledge of LANs and WANs
  • Provision of a desktop as a service in the cloud.

This course shows you how to make strong, reliable, and fast systems. By the end, you'll know how to design, code, check, and change a program, and make basic user guides.

What you’ll learn
  • Look into, plan, and suggest a software solution to a problem
  • Learn to develop software with Visual Studio 2019 and Visual Basic
  • Make a basic Windows Form using different tools
  • Check data is correct
  • Test, debug, and change code
  • Write easy user instructions for the program
A beginner's guide to gaming ideas. You'll learn to turn a game idea into a basic design with some coding. By the course's end, you'll have made and tested a basic game and written notes for it.

What you’ll learn
  • Look into a situation, plan and make a digital solution (game) for an issue
  • Make, check, and review a game for given criteria
  • Get to know Visual Studio 2019 and Visual Basic coding
  • Make a simple game using different tools (PictureBox, Loop, checks, Control, Timer, Panel, Events, form size, move stuff with a keyboard)
  • Write a user guide and notes for the game

Full-time courses

 

We have 5 full-time courses offered across our Computer Engineering and Software Development strands. Take a look at the key skills you can gain from each of our Diplomas!

Our entry level tertiary IT course in Computer Engineering. In this course you will:

  • Assemble, repair, and manage computer hardware and network devices
  • Troubleshoot networks and configure routers, Wi-Fi, and firewalls
  • Manage databases utilising SQL server
  • Understand the basics of cybersecurity and modern desktop provisioning
  • Dive into cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, covering tools such as SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, and OneDrive

Our entry level tertiary IT course in Software Development. In this course you will::

  • Acquire coding skills in C# and create applications
  • Master web design with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and Bootstrap
  • Develop intuitive applications emphasising UI and UX principles
  • Utilise the Software Development Life Cycle for effective project management
  • Manage business processes and data with SQL, and draft technical documentation
  • Gain proficiency in writing computer programs, understanding Agile project management, and working in a modern software development team
