Welcome to the Techtorium Level 7 Diploma in Cloud Management. This NZQA Level 7 Diploma Course is a highly specialised course that aims to qualify students in Cloud & Server Infrastructure.
As part of this one year Diploma Course, students will be introduced to:

  • Plan and deploy a server infrastructure
  • Design and deploy a System Centre infrastructure
  • Implement a hybrid cloud infrastructure using System Centre and Microsoft Azure
  • Deploy Office 365 Services
  • Create a SharePoint infrastructure
  • Provide advanced solutions with Microsoft Exchange
  • Implement network infrastructure services
  • Design network access services
  • Design, configure and manage advanced security
  • Design and implement an Active Directory infrastructure (Logical and Physical)
  • Configure data centre process automation
  • Configure and deploy virtual machines and services
  • Deploy resource monitoring
  • Design, configure and manage site resiliency
  • Plan and design server and storage solutions for SMB customers
  • Install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot server and storage solutions (including both rack-mount and blade systems) for SMB customers
  • Apply performance tuning and optimise server and storage solutions for SMB customers
The Level 7 Diploma in Cloud Management is designed to help our learners in performing the functional roles around designing and implementing server infrastructure, configuring and deploying private cloud infrastructures and implementing advanced solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server. In addition, students are preparing for Project Management and Operational Management.
Prerequisite / Entry Requirments

All prospective candidates are required to have completed the Level 6 NZ Diploma in System Administration. Mature applicants will be considered for a position on the course based on their interest in a career change to computer engineering. International students will need a IELTS Academic score of  6 with no band score lower than 5.5

INTERNATIONAL TUITION FEE: $17,000.00

The course fees are fixed for 2016/17. Over 90% of our students will arrange a student loan from Study-link to pay for this. We can help you arrange this if required.

If it is your very first time coming to Techtorium on a full-time course, you will need to attend an induction before the Term starts.

For Term 1 2018, induction will start on Tuesday the 30th of January until Friday 2nd of February, 9am-12.30pm

Learning Outcomes and Graduate Profile

Students who complete this Level 7 Diploma are prepared for careers as System Engineers, Cloud Support Technicians, Cloud Architects, Messaging Engineers and other similar job roles. These roles fall under a number of different job titles, but the functional roles are involved in designing, implementing and supporting server infrastructures. Course/Programme Learning Outcomes The achievement of a Diploma in Cloud Management (Level 7) demonstrates that the holder has: Specialised knowledge to analyse and generate solutions to complex problems in the server, cloud storage and messaging environments. Analysed, adapted and applied specialised processes to analyse IT Infrastructures and generate enterprise wide solutions. Advanced storage specialist knowledge to be applied in the design and implementation of storage solutions developed advanced skills and specialist knowledge of cloud and server environments with significant depth in some areas. Real-world experience in working with different teams on projects. Acquired advanced design and implementation skills through real-life project scenarios. Acquired good communication and problem solving skill. The ability to apply project management methodologies and practices.

Diploma in Cloud Management

 

You will be introduced to the enterprise server and storage environment.  You will learn to manage integrated IT environments using server and messaging tools. You will be creating scenarios that reflect real industry scenarios.  You will be following industry established processes and procedures to support your classroom time. The skills and knowledge are designed to get you from the classroom directly into industry in a significant position.

 

You will also be capable of performing the functional roles around Designing and Implementing Server Infrastructure, Configuring and Deploying Private Cloud Infrastructures, and will also be Implementing Advanced Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server.  In addition, you are preparing for a role in Project Management and Operational Management.

TERM 1: Server Infrastructure & Server Technologies 

Windows Server 2012 – Designing and Deploying a Server Infrastructure and implementing and Advanced Server Infrastructure.

This module is designed for people who are being trained on Windows Server 2012 who are completing the 70-413 (Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure) and 70-414 (Implementing an Advanced Server Infrastructure) exams. These exams are required for the new MCSE: Server Infrastructure on Windows Server 2012 certification.

TERM 2: Private Cloud & Cloud Based Environment 

Windows 2012 – Monitoring and Operating a Private Cloud with System Centre 2012

This module focuses on what you need to know to implement Private Cloud environments. You will be prepared to complete the Microsoft Certified Professional exam 70-246 and exam 70-247. You will cover the objectives that are covered in the exam, and some general exam taking tips and technology “gotchas” about Microsoft System Centre 2012.

TERM 3: Messaging & the Enterprise Messaging Environment

Core Solutions and Advanced Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013

This module is designed for people experienced with Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 and who are interested in taking the 70-341 (Core Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013) and 70-342 (Advanced Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013) exams. These exams are required for the new MCSE: Messaging certification.

TERM 4 (Part 1): Server Storage Infrastructure (Oct – Dec)

This module provides the knowledge and experience required to discover and meet the business objectives of small and medium businesses and to design an application hosting and data storage solution that meets their unique requirements. In addition, knowledge and skill to deploy and troubleshoot the solution are also included

 

  1. Explain and recognize industry-standard server technologies and their implications for customer needs
  2. Recognize and describe HP and industry-standard
  3. Plan and design server and storage solutions for SMB customers
  4. Install, configure, and upgrade server and storage solutions (including both rack-mount and blade systems) for SMB customers
  5. Performance-tune and optimize server and storage solutions for SMB customers
  6. Troubleshoot and perform repair/replacement procedures for server and storage solutions for SMB customers
  7. Manage servers and storage systems using HP Infrastructure Management
  8. Administer and operate server and storage solutions for SMB customers

2. One of our Pathways Managers will be in touch to arrange a time for you to interview with the Principal.

3. If you are passionate about IT and if you meet the pre-requisites, you will be accepted onto the course.

4. Complete Enrolment Form

  1. Have you signed and returned your Public Trust Agreement?
  2. Have you signed and returned your Techtorium Contract?
  3. Have you provided evidence of NZ residency using either an NZ birth certificate, NZ passport, resident stamp or citizenship certificate?
