Here at Techtorium NZIIT, we offer a wide range of IT Courses across the Computer Engineering and Software Development pathways.

Our vocational, skills-based IT Courses are highly regarded by a number of international IT companies that we can proudly call our Employment Partners. Our IT Courses are robust and offer students a chance to easily transition from secondary school, right through to an entry-level role in the ICT industry. Currently, Techtorium offers four IT Courses that have been created in collaboration with the NZQA and aim to provide you with the right mix of technical and soft skills required to gain employment as an entry level technician or engineer.

New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5)

1 Year  |  120 Credits  | $9,685.00 | Start dates: February, April, July & October | NZQA Approved | Fees Free*

Following this one year New Zealand diploma course you will be able to:

  • Assemble, repair and manage network devices
  • Implement Cyber Security fundamentals
  • Assemble and troubleshoot computer hardware
  • Troubleshoot networks, configure routers, Wi-Fi and firewalls
  • Configure virtual networks with Hyper-V
  • Administering Databases using SQL server
  • Apply fundamental customer service skills
  • Use Ticketing systems and reporting for helpdesk support
  • Introduction to service management with ITIL
  • Develop automation scripts with Windows PowerShell
  • Introduction to web development and to Programming Windows application using Visual Studio.

We have a team of Employment Pathways Managers who’s primary role is to bridge the gap between our New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology and the ICT industry.

For our Level 5 graduates, gaining employment as an entry level engineer is paramount. New Zealand Diploma in Systems Administration (Level 6)

1 Year  |  120 Credits  | $9,685.00 | Start dates: February, April, July & October | NZQA Approved

Following this one year New Zealand diploma course you will be able to:

  • Implement networking technologies like Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) and Group Policy Management (GPM)
  • Install, upgrade and migrate devices in a server based network
  • Deploy server based storage solutions like Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID), Storage Pools and Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Apply advanced virtualisation using Microsoft technologies like Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager
  • Implement high availability and failover in networked environments
  • Implement load balancing in networked environments

Diploma in Cloud management (Level 7)

1 Year  |  120 Credits  | $10,000.00 | Start dates: February, April, July & October | NZQA Approved

This NZQA Level 7 Diploma Course is a highly specialised course that aims to qualify students in Cloud & Server Infrastructure. As part of this one year Diploma Course, students will be introduced to:

  • Design, Install and Configure Private Cloud: Data protection, automation, management and monitoring
  • Apply Private Cloud Service Management
  • Design and Implement Enterprise Messaging Solutions with Microsoft Exchange as well as Enterprise collaboration with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Adapt and Apply Enterprise Mobility Solutions with Office 365
  • Implement Public Cloud Provisioning with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
  • Adapt and Apply Application Virtualisation with Citrix
  • Provide Enterprise Deployment and Management Solutions with Microsoft System Centre

New Zealand Diploma in Information Systems (Level 5)

Following this one year New Zealand diploma course you will be able to:

  • Learn to code in C# using Visual Studio and deploy simple working applications.
  • Design and develop for the web using Bootstrap framework including HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
  • Develop user-friendly applications using UI and UX concepts
  • Implement Business Process and
  • Data Management using SQL
  • Write technical documentation for professional environments
  • Implement Project Management using Software Development Life Cycle
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot common computer problems
  • Apply Business ethics and professionalism in Information Technology

 

This Diploma leads directly to the second year of Level 6 New Zealand Diploma in Software Development

New Zealand Diploma in Software Development (Level 6)

2 years*   | $9,685 | Start dates: February or July  | NZQA Approved

* Get straight to the 2nd year after you graduated from our Level 5 NZ Diploma in Information Systems

Following this two year New Zealand diploma course (Diploma in Software Development) you will be able to:

  • Advance your code in C# using Visual Studio and program in Python which is perfect for data science and back end web development
  • Develop for Mobile Applications
  • Apply current best practices in IT security, Encryption and Privacy
  • Implement advanced UI and UX solutions keeping in mind universal accessibility and software architecture patterns such as MVC (Model View Controller)
  • Test your creativity with Game Development and shift from being a gamer to become a video game maker
  • Discover Emerging Technologies
  • Learn about system and application; installation and configuration; network and fundamental troubleshooting
  • Capstone Project
    Students will work collaboratively on a Final Year Project. Senior students will lead the projects and manage team work with junior students.
    Using Agile project management methodology, teams of students will apply their critical thinking, business logic, project planning and management skills to design, develop and deliver their final year project.

Software developers can specialise in the development, maintenance or enhancement of certain programs and software. They can also work in a range of areas including:

  • web and mobile application development
  • computer games
